Jan is a 30 year veteran of the insurance industry qualifying numerous times for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).  He entered the business as a Connecticut Mutual agent in January of 1975.  Jan earned the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation in 1978 and the ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) designation in 1983.  Early in his career, he formed Cornerstone Financial Group, Inc.  Cornerstone employs seven people and serves the small business market.

Jan joined Penn Mutual in January  of 2002 and qualified for their Golden Eagle Club in his first full year.

Jan is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of, and offers securities and investment advisory services through Hornor Townsend & Kent, Inc. (Member FINRA & SIPC).  He holds the Series 6, 22, 63 & 65 licenses.

He is an active member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and  National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU)

Jan is a 1975 graduate of Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.  He resides in Succasunna, New Jersey with his wife, Wendy, and three daughters:  Nicole, Tara, and Julie.

Alan received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts in 1982.  He worked as an engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, New Jersey until he started with Cornerstone Financial Group, Inc. in August of 1988 as a partner with his brother-in-law, primarily doing number analysis in several areas.  Alan served as the advanced sales consultant with the Roseland Agency of Connecticut Mutual from April 1991 until December 1992.

Alan is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative of, and offers securities and investment advisory Services through Hornor Townsend & Kent, Inc. (Member FINRA & SIPC).  He holds the Series 6 & 7  licenses.

Mary joined Cornerstone in 1993 as an administrative assistant.  Soon thereafter she found her niche in the employee benefits side of the business.  In 1999 Mary was promoted to Vice President of Employee Benefits.  In the fall of 2003 Mary decided to pursue her career and go into sales.  She has found she can be a successful salesperson as well as servicing Cornerstone's existing clientele.

Mary earned the RHU (Registered Health Underwriter) designation form the American College in 2007.

Mary and her husband, Alan, live in Succasunna with their four children.

 

Wendy M. Sedlacek | Administrator

Wendy graduated Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1978 and joined Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company as a customer service representative.  After leaving Connecticut Mutual she was employed by Cardell and Associates, an investment firm located in Morris Plains.  Wendy was offered an opportunity to work at the home office of Chubb Life Insurance Company handling customers inquires.

In 1980 she moved with her husband Jan to Louisiana and was employed at a Property and Casualty agency.  Wendy returned to New Jersey in 1982 and stayed at home with her three children.  She returned to the workforce in 1996 and joined Cornerstone Financial Group.    Wendy has a life & health insurance license, as well as the FINRA Series 6 license as a registered sale assistant with Hornor, Townsend, & Kent, Inc.    

Wendy resides in Succasunna with her husband Jan and three daughters, Nicole, Tara, and Julie.

Kristi is the newest member of Cornerstone Financial Group, Inc.  She joined the team in October of 2010.  She works with current clients on their yearly Small Group Health Insurance renewals.  Kristi is excited to start her career in the Small Group Benefits Market.  Previous to her employment at Cornerstone, Kristi spent several years working for Zurich American Insurance Company in the Accident & Health Division.  Kristi attended County College of Morris in Randolph and John Jay College in New York City.   She lives in Rockaway.

Tracey joined Cornerstone Financial Group, Inc. in the beginning of 2010.   She works in the Employee Benefits Division along with Mary and Kristi.  Her primary role is providing administration/customer service to the Small Group clientele.  Tracey graduated from Boston University.  Her prior employment experience includes but is not limited to  several years at a financial consulting firm as a Broker/Client liaison and administration in retirement services.

Tracey resides with her husband in Sussex County.
